The Bambu Sofa was produced in collaboration with Yonoh studio. It takes its inspiration from the century old techniques used for bamboo and rattan furniture. The legs seamlessly connect to the side rail and travels uninterrupted from the flanks of the sofa to the back. This is only possible using the solid wood steam bending technique, something that is extremely difficult to do well. This structure is reminiscent of south east Asian furniture but it's reimagined with a western, modern twist. The sofa legs are slightly splayed to give gravity to the piece. This helps to ground it and adds lightness to the upper part of the sofa. The full back cushions are reiterated in a slightly smaller form for the side cushions, again giving balance and proportion. By partnering the Bambu sofa with the Bambu ottoman you are able to create a more spacious, usable piece without compromising on the overall theme. This collection is perfect for a contemporary interior looking for an eclectic vibe.
